Any content that is associated with a location can be displayed on a Google Map! Consider the following ideas:
Math
Visualize data on a map and categorize in order to create bar graphs
Map out various shapes (parallelogram, etc.) and calculate area
Calculate volume, surface area, weight, etc. of ancient pyramids or other structures
Study architectural features on buildings such as arches and angles
Map out different routes to school and measure the distances
Map out the school grounds and look for shapes, angles, etc.
Health
Research the healthiest cities/unhealthiest cities and create a report using Google My Maps
Keep track of steps, activity, miles and plot out "how far you traveled" on a map--try to get to certain place by end of year
Language Arts
Trace a character's journey and describe what he experienced, add pictures
Write a story using places on a map
Social Studies
A Place in Time: search for photos from historical places and add to a marker, then add information on the place marker
Postcards from the Past: similar to the above but write a postcard entry on the marker
Civil War Battles: Add battles from 1861, 1862, and 1863 to different layers and notice trends
Photo Tours of places like Stonehenge, Greece, Rome
